Summer Music Vocal Academy

This program is designed to enhance your vocal a cappella ensemble skills. Participants will engage with Rollins College faculty in a variety of a cappella ensembles, which offer the small group instruction that Rollins College is known for. Academy participants will enjoy an exclusive concert with Voctave, whose members will also be present throughout the week to sing and work with students.

The Rollins College Summer Music Vocal Academy

The Rollins College Summer Music Vocal Academy is designed to enhance your vocal a cappella ensemble skills. Participants will engage with Rollins College faculty in a variety of a cappella ensembles, which offer the small group instruction that Rollins College is known for. Members of Voctave and Bach Vocal Artists will also be present throughout the week to sing and work with the students.

Through lively classes, singers will have the chance to explore additional musical proficiencies that are crucial for a cappella success. In addition, academy participants will gain essential skills and new artistic techniques that will enhance their solo and ensemble performance practices.

A solo recital and private voice lessons are available to a limited number of attendees. Registration in voice lessons is a requirement to participate in the solo recital. (Additional Fee)

Participation is open to students who have completed 9th grade through 12th-grade in the 2023-2024 academic year.


Vocal Ensembles

All participants will perform in a modern vocal jazz/contemporary ensemble, an early music chamber ensemble, and in an ensemble singing standard vocal ensemble literature.

Placements for the vocal ensembles are done by the instructors during registration and check-in on July 7.


Solo Recital Audition Process

Auditions for the Solo Recital will take place on the check-in day (July 7). Students interested in participating in the solo recital must register for voice lessons and bring a prepared piece to registration. Additional fee required: $60.00.

Please note that students who are unable to arrive at camp during the designated check-in times will not be eligible to audition. The solo recital will take place on Friday during the designated concert time in the morning.
