National Conference on Race and Ethnicity Delegation
NCOREThe NCORE conference series constitutes the leading and most comprehensive national forum on issues of race and ethnicity in American higher education. The conference focuses on the complex task of creating and sustaining comprehensive institutional change designed to improve racial and ethnic relations on campus and to expand opportunities for educational access and success by culturally diverse, traditionally underrepresented populations.

The Conference Includes:

  • More than 40 Special Feature Presentations and Workshops
  • More than 150 Concurrent Workshop Sessions
  • National Networking Groups/Organizations

Rollins NCORE History

 

NCORE 2008, Orlando, Florida

In 2008, Rollins College sent ten students to NCORE, which took place at Disney’s Coronado Spring Resort. It was the first year in which Rollins students had the opportunity to participate in this program.

NCORE 2009, San Diego, California

In 2009, Rollins sent 3 Office of Multicultural Affairs staff members: Mahjabeen Rafiuddin, Amit Karr, and Rachel Luce; and 6 students: Meghan Thomas, Jamie Ruiz, Marcos Gonzales, Tyler Cloutier, Tina Udhwani, and Paul Bennett to the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity. According to student/participant Meghan Thomas, “It was a great experience! We saw a lot of great speakers, like Tim Wise and Cornell West. We also saw a lot of traditional performances, including: Philipino, Mariachi, and Native American performances. We even attended a Native American Pow-Wow. The sessions each day were challenging and informative. The conference also featured caucuses for different races/ethnicities.”
