Experiential Learning

Marketing Strategy & Planning
We don’t just sit back and talk about marketing theory, we work with real companies to build a strategy, vision and plan that can be implemented in the marketplace.
Operations Management
Students analyze a real company’s operations and come up with recommendations that actually make a difference. Organizations range from restaurants and car washes to nonprofit organizations and manufacturing companies.
Global Supply Chain Management
Student teams experience all the challenges and decisions that managers have to make in the real world. Using a sophisticated simulation program, they test key parts of their global supply chain strategy, such as where to locate, where to compete, and which modes of transportation and suppliers to use.
Domestic Consulting Projects
In this full-semester course, students have the opportunity to tackle real management problems and challenges in leading U.S.-based companies. Student teams work on-site with company managers, define the problem, perform a comprehensive analysis, and present a professional-quality final report to senior management.
Enterprise Consulting
In this course, students learn how to be consultants and gain insights into the consulting industry, including how consultants maintain and sustain business. At the center of the course is a consulting project for a small- to mid-sized company, community government, or local retail concern.
Advanced Portfolio Management
Students gain real-world experience through hands-on management of the Crummer/SunTrust Portfolio. The class is organized like an investment firm with student analysts, portfolio strategists, and managing directors.
