Rollins MBA Professor Halil Kiymaz Elected President of the Academy of Financial ServicesDecember 13, 2010 – The Rollins MBA at the Crummer Graduate School of Business announced today that Dr. Halil Kiymaz, CFA Bank of America Chair and Professor of Finance, has been elected as president of the Academy of Financial Services. Under his leadership the Academy will continue to encourage basic and applied research in the area of personal financial planning, financial services and the development of the curricula at the university level. The Academy is also committed to increasing the dialogue between financial services professionals and academicians.

The focus of Dr. Kiymaz’s research includes international mergers and acquisitions, emerging capital markets, linkages among capital markets of developing economics, mutual fund performances, IPOs and financial management of multinationals. He has published extensively in academic journals, including Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Review, Journal of Applied Finance, Applied Financial Economics, Review of Financial Economics, Journal of Multinational Financial Management, Journal of Economics and Finance, and the Global Finance Journal. His forthcoming book titled The Art of Capital Restructuring: Creating Shareholder Value through Mergers and Acquisitions will be released next year.
