Events: Keeping our Students Involved

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has several events each year to foster student-faculty relationships and to prepare our students to meet the challenges ahead as fully prepared and informed as possible.

Bush Science Center Dedication

The newly-renovated Archibald Granville Bush Science Center dedication was a huge event on campus, complete with music, special guests and speakers, and science-oriented refreshments!

Special Days

Computer Science Student-Alumni Career Luncheon

Graduates from Rollins' computer science program return to the college to share their journeys, their advice, and their success with current students and faculty.  Students learn what courses and projects best prepared alumni for their careers, and ask questions about the road ahead.

Student-Faculty Year-End Picnic

Each year during the Spring semester, the math and computer science faculty and staff invite their students to enjoy a day of grilling, volleyball, kayaking, music, and fun on the campus near beautiful Lake Virginia. It's a time to enjoy each other without the pressures of class or homework.

Career Presentations

Our senior students have an opportunity to speak with a Career Services representative in class and then to research careers of interest and/or internship opportunities. They then create PowerPoint presentations and present them to fellow students and faculty. It's never too early to find your direction.
