Nate joined Olin Library in December 2014 as the Discovery & Systems Librarian, managing the diverse library systems currently in place while investigating ways to further integrate and improve technology, capabilities, and workflows. Prior to Rollins, he worked at Montana State University, Bozeman and Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. Eventually landing in a technical role, Nate originally has a liberal arts background with a B.A. in Psychology from Flagler College. He holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa and a second Master’s in Computer Information Systems from Florida Institute of Technology. Research interests include open access, metadata, library systems, and other aspects of digital librarianship. Nate is a proud father and husband and enjoys spending time with his family fishing, surfing, hiking, and exploring “The Real Florida”. He is also an avid backyard gardener and has been published in Florida Gardening Magazine.
Nadia Ramirez ’13 is the first Rollins alum to earn a place in the highly competitive Rangel International Affairs Program, which is designed to prepare graduate students for careers in Foreign Service.
