About Maridath

A native of Georgia, who spent thirteen (!) winters in the Northeast, I am thrilled to back in the land of pimento cheese, fried catfish, and sweet tea. I joined Rollins in 2017 as the E-Resources and Serials Librarian.  I received my MLIS with distinction from Pratt Institute, and my B.A. in Sociology, Women’s Studies, and African-American Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  After graduating from Pratt, I worked for JSTOR, a non-profit scholarly journals aggregator, and provided collection development consultation to libraries and library systems & consortia across the world.  My time at JSTOR took me to conferences and exposed me to libraries as diverse as tribal libraries out West to the Sorbonne in Paris.  At Olin Library, I manage the relationships with our electronic content providers and troubleshoot access issues.  When not in my office, I am the liaison to the Critical Media & Communications department as well as the Communications department. My own research interests include library as 3rd place, intersectional feminism, and the changing role of the academic librarian in the 21st century.  Outside of work, I love all things indie rock, the lyrics of Bob Dylan, and nice blocks of cheese.
