Starting Monday, June 4th, the elevator in the Olin Library will be down for state-mandated maintenance and upgrades for four weeks, making it unusable for that period. During those weeks, the only means of accessing the 3rd and 4th floors will be via the emergency stairwell on the northeast corner of the building. To find the stairs on the first floor, enter the temporary entrance, turn left and follow the signs. The location of the stairs is marked on this map for ease of reference.
Library staff will be available to retrieve any library materials from the upper floors for patrons who are not able to climb the stairs. If you would like us to retrieve a book for you before your visit to the library, just send the title, author, and call number of the books you want us to retrieve to firstname.lastname@example.org, and our circulation staff will hold the books for you at the circulation desk on the 1st floor. The information we need is available in the catalog record, outlined in green here:
We apologize for any inconvenience that this elevator maintenance might cause. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments, or if you require additional assistance.
