Overview

Rollins strives to stay on the leading edge of technology that aides the educational process. We have a variety of equipment to aid and support your teaching efforts both installed in our classrooms and available for check out. 

We are responsible for scheduling, delivery, maintenance, and instruction regarding Classroom Technology throughout the campus. The equipment we are responsible for includes TVs, DVD players, LCD Data/Video projectors, document cameras, video cameras, as well as the design, specification, and installation coordination for all campus presentations systems. 

All Classroom Technology equipment is available to Rollins College Faculty, Staff and Students for instructional purposes on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact Scheduling and Event Services to reserve your meeting place now. A minimum of 48 hours is required.

Standard Classroom Technology

Rollins has at a minimum the following standard technologies in technology-enabled classrooms:

  • Touch-screen audio/video control (Crestron panel)
  • In-room PC computer
  • One projector and screen
  • Cables for HDMI and USB-C connections

Some classrooms have specialized technology beyond these standards.  Classrooms are listed here as standard, or with specific notes about specialized technology they contain.

FAQs

Q: I need help right now! Who do I call?
A: Call Classroom Technology at 407-628-6363 (campus ext 6363).

Q: How far in advance can an equipment reservation be made?
A: As soon as you know when and where you will need it, reserve the equipment through Scheduling and Event Services.

Q: The projector won't turn on, what should I do?
A: Either activate the room using the Crestron control panel or turn the projector on using the remote. The remote should have a button labeled power. Aim the remote at the projector and press the power button. You should see a faint blue glow from the lens and hear the fan turn on. Please remember to turn off the Crestron system or projector when finished with the room.

Q: The projector is on, why can't I see my laptop?
A: Make sure the projector is on the correct input, source or mode

Check to make sure your laptop screen resolution is set no greater than 1024x768.

Q: How do I get help with audio systems in Galloway, Bush Aud, the sports complex or a portable system?
A: These systems are now handled by Classroom Technology. If you need help with a audio system, please call 6363. For reservations, contact Scheduling and Events Services.
