Institutional Review Board

An Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a federally mandated committee of scientists and laypersons who are responsible for ensuring the well-being and ethical treatment of human participants in research projects administered by Rollins College faculty, students, or staff, or by outside researchers requesting to use Rollins College facilities or volunteers.

Virtually all research projects using human participants requires IRB review, although certain categories of research (such as internal program or course evaluations) may be exempted.  It is a good idea to solicit the opinion of the IRB Chair if you are unsure as to whether your project requires review.

For further infomation, contact information, and online review forms, please see the Rollins IRB R-Net website.
