Professor of Physics Thomas Moore has been appointed to the Archibald Granville Bush Chair of Science, effective September 1st.
Moore joined the Department of Physics in 1999. In addition to his teaching and research in optics, lasers, and musical acoustics, he is the director of the College’s faculty-student collaborative research program. His contributions in his discipline have been recognized with numerous awards including a McKean Grant and the 2009-10 Bornstein Award for Faculty Scholarship. The Bush Chair was established in 1969 by The Bush Foundation to recognize outstanding science faculty. Moore follows Don Griffin, who retired this spring.
