His advocacy on the part of the world's oceans has earned him countless prominent awards and recognitions, such as the Environmental Hero Award, the SeaKeepers Award, and the 2008 IPPY Gold Medal Award for best book in ecology. Cousteau’s presentation "The Great Ocean Adventure" promises to be a memorable Rollins event.
Earlier in the day Cousteau will take part in the Winter Park Institute symposium, “The 21st Century: Opportunities and Challenges in the New Millennium.” He will join Thane Maynard (‘76BA) and John Cronin for “The Natural World” panel.
