Spoken on five continents, in 35 countries, French is the most studied language in the world. Traditionally associated with style, savoir vivre, culture and fine cuisine, French is also the language of economic power, socio-literary prestige and cutting edge technology. It is considered one of the most influential languages in the world. Major and minor programs are offered at Rollins. Students may chose from an array of language, literature, civilization and cinema courses. Rollins is associated with the Hollins Program in Paris and students of French traditionally spend one or more semesters in Paris studying not only language, literature and civilization, but also history, theater, cinema, politics, art and architecture. A popular double major is French and international studies. Rollins French majors have been accepted in graduate programs at Princeton, Middlebury and the University of Florida, among others.
