(Major, Minor)
You can make a difference in your life and the lives of hundreds of children. As baby boomers retire, the demand for new teachers will be strong for years to come, according to Florida Department of Education projections. With a Rollins bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, you’ll be eligible for Florida Professional Teacher Certification.
Our Education graduates are in great demand with area principals and are regularly named Teacher of the Year at their schools. Because they leave Rollins with the highest quality training for the classroom and a lifelong support network, they consistently make us proud.
The Rollins Evening Elementary Education major is rich in both theory and practice, giving teacher candidates many opportunities for classroom experience before graduation. Our experienced, talented, and enthusiastic Rollins faculty work closely with area teachers and administrators to create a seamless transition from coursework to clinical work.
The Elementary Education major requires sixteen (16) courses and a semester of supervised student teaching. (Students seeking certification in selected secondary [6–12] subjects must schedule an appointment with Director of Teacher Education Scott Hewit by contacting him at shewit@rollins.edu or 407-646-2300.)
