The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISSS) is available to assist you during your initial transition to Rollins and in the years to come. Although an international student’s first contact is usually through the Office of Admission, the Office of International Student & Scholar Services seeks to have an ongoing relationship with each international student during their time at Rollins College. We also assist visiting scholars and professors coming to Rollins from overseas to lecture, teach or engage in research.
The Office of International Student & Scholar Services provides information to international students and scholars before their arrival on campus; sponsors International Orientation at the beginning of each semester; and works with other offices across campus to present a variety of programs and activities throughout the year. The staff advises students on immigration and employment regulations, legal rights and responsibilities, health insurance, financial matters, adjustment to Orlando and the U.S., and various personal concerns.
The Office of International Student & Scholar Services is responsible for handling all matters concerning non-immigrant visas with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of State (DOS) regulations. Students and visiting scholars are recommended to consult with this office before contacting any of the bureaus of the DHS or an immigration attorney. For detailed information on immigration and employment regulations relevant to your non-immigrant visa status, please refer to the appropriate sections of the website.
The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISSS) is committed to the values and principles of international education by supporting and encouraging the enrollment of international students and engagement with international scholars. The office strives to provide our international student and scholar community with programs and services that support their successful adjustment to life in the U.S. and at Rollins, as well as their compliance with immigration responsibilities. Our goal is also to promote the understanding of self and others through intercultural exchange and dialogue. Serving as the primary resource and advocate for the international student and scholar community, the office works with students, faculty, and staff to contribute to the goal of internationalization at Rollins.
Please note that all international students are required to check in with the Office of International Student & Scholar Services upon arrival at Rollins!
