Eligibility

Most of these programs require a GPA of at least 3.0 and admission is competitive. (Hollins University requires a minimum of a B average in order to be considered for the Hollins in Paris program.)  Sophomores are eligible to apply for participation during their junior year. Seniors must request a waiver from their residence requirement in order to participate.

Academic requirements

Credits earned abroad on these programs count toward your Rollins degree. Courses and grades are listed on your Rollins transcript and are counted in your cumulative GPA. General Education requirements, major and minor requirements may be fulfilled with prior approval, by completing the Academic Clearance form which is available in the International Programs office.

Language preparation

Students applying to the Hollins University program in Paris need at least two years of college level French with at least a B average in those classes. There is no language requirement for Hong Kong Baptist University.

Financial aid

All financial aid programs used for attendance on campus can be used for these programs, except for work study, talent scholarships awarded by academic or athletic departments, which require the approval of the department, and VA benefits. Departments offering talent scholarships are not required to exempt the student from performance obligations required of scholarship recipients or approve the scholarship for study abroad. To qualify for assistance the students must meet the same eligibility criteria that are otherwise required.

Application

Apply through International Programs.  Do not apply directly to the program. Applications for College Year in Athens and ICCS Rome are submitted by Dr. Friedland in Classical Studies.  Applications for the Washington Semester are submitted by Dr. Fogelsong in the Politics Department (for Spring 2003 only, by Dr. Gunter). Admission is competitive, so it is a good idea to apply early.  The application deadline for all programs is February 1 for Fall Semester and October 1 for Spring Semester.  A Rollins International Program application is required in addition to the individual school application.  Click here to download the Rollins application.  You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to download the application.

After you have been accepted for a program

Students selected for a program must either pay the program deposit or a $500 deposit to Rollins to hold their place. Rollins will then bill the students for the regular Rollins semester charges. Final bills are due November 30 for spring programs, and June 30 for fall programs. Students complete an Intent to Study form and an Academic Clearance form. All students are required to attend a mandatory day long orientation program.

Student status

Students participating in these programs are registered at Rollins during their period of study abroad. You will be sent registration materials during your term away so that you may register for courses at Rollins for the following semester.
