Dr. Marc Fetscherin

Dr. Fetscherin is an Associate Professor the International Business and Marketing at Rollins College. He is also a Cornell Distinguished Faculty.  Before coming to Rollins, he was a Post-Doc Fellow at Harvard University as well as a researcher at the University of California at Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. in Economics and Social Science from the University of Bern, Switzerland. He also holds a master degree in Business Studies from the London School of Economics (LSE), UK; as well as a Master in Management from the University of Lausanne, Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC), Switzerland. He is a Visiting Professor at the East China University of Science and Technology (China), the Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), the Jacobs University (Germany), an Asia Programs Visiting Scholar at Harvard University (Cambridge, USA) and a Research Fellow in the Center of Competitiveness at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). His expertise is in in international marketing with a geographical focus on China and a functional focus on branding with topics related to the globalization of Chinese companies, Chinese competitiveness, Chinese brands, as well as product brand management, corporate branding, city and nation branding, human brands, brand equity, co-branding, brand image, brand awareness, brand associations, and consumer brand relationships.

He has published 3 books, multiple book chapters and journal articles. His articles have appeared in peer reviewed journals such Management International Review, International Business Review, Thunderbird International Business Review, European Journal of International Management, Asian Business & Management, International Journal of Emerging Markets, Journal of Global Marketing, International Marketing Review, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Brand Management, Journal of Place Branding and Public Diplomacy.


International Experience

Mr. Fetscherin has extensive international experience and speaks 5 languages. From an early age he has lived and traveled internationally. In the last couple of years he has traveled to over 30 countries, and has lived and worked there. Examples are the UK, Spain, India, Russia, China, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland among others. He also has international business experience as a consultant working for McKinsey & Company, a leading and global consulting company. He did various projects (i.e., e-commerce, strategy, business building) in different industries (i.e., Telecom, Media & Entertainment, Private Equity) in several countries (i.e., India, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Poland). Between 2004-2007 he was the CEO of Bonfort SA, a small Swiss-based luxury company as well as he is involved in many other business ventures and consulting projects worldwide. He has consulted companies such as IKEA, H&M, Tata, Novartis, Credit Suisse, Swissbit.
