Helen A. Ward Crossley Distinguished Service Award

The Helen A. Ward Crossley Distinguished Service Award for Staff was established in 1999 as a means of recognizing Rollins staff members for their outstanding service and dedication to the College.  The award is granted annually to the individual staff member whose contributions to the College over time most consistently demonstrate one or more of the award success criteria, as determined by a selection committee.


  • All regular staff scheduled to work at least 1000 hours per year
  • Must have completed 5 or more years of service to the College
  • Must not have been selected as the award’s recipient in the past 5 years (past recipients)

Success Criteria

  • High quality service to internal and/or external customers resulting in extraordinary customer relationships
  • Exceptional performance “above and beyond” normal job expectations
  • Innovation, creativity and initiative
  • Extraordinary teamwork and contributions in support of fellow employees

Nominations will be accepted from all faculty and staff.  The nomination screening process will commence in April and the award recipient will be announced in May.  The award recipient will receive:

  • Recognition at the Service Awards Celebration in May
  • An individualized plaque
  • Have their name engraved on the Helen A. Ward Crossley memorial plaque maintained by the College
  • A $1,000 gift

Nomination Instructions

The nomination process for 2011-12 is now closed. Nominations are accepted each year in the Spring. An announcement will be made at that time.
