R-Healthy Living Committee
Mission

As a strategic partner with Rollins' leadership, the R-Healthy Living Committee’s mission is to enhance awareness and help create and promote a healthy campus community in which to live, learn, teach, work, or visit.

Purpose

R-Healthy Living committee members serve in an advisory capacity to the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Risk Management by reviewing and making recommendations on selected practices, policies and procedures relating to promoting a healthy campus community.  Members also provide input regarding the development of certain types of programs and serve as a source of thoughts, ideas, and opinions from the staff and faculty body of the College.

Committee Membership

Chaired by Christy Gomez, the R-Healthy Living committee is made up Rollins staff and faculty representing at least the following departments and/or organizations:

During the first meeting of the academic year, and at any point the Committee deems it necessary, the Committee will evaluate their makeup and determine if their membership adequately represents the staff and faculty of the College.  If it is determined by the Committee that a group or groups are underrepresented then the members may put forth a motion to add additional members from the underrepresented groups.  In the event of a vacancy, the Committee will evaluate their makeup and determine if their membership adequately represents the College community. 

 

Programming & Schedule of Event(s)

The R-Healthy Living Committee will develop and administer an ongoing series of workshops, discussion forums, speakers, and events intended to foster dialogue, interaction, education and community building around creating a culture and community that promotes a healthy lifestyle.  On a monthly basis corresponding with the College’s academic year, the committee will provide monthly learning and engagement opportunities that achieve one or more of the strategic objective identified above.

Planning and Administration

Programming will be funded and overseen by the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Risk Management, with program development and administration coordinated by the R-Healthy Living Committee in conjunction with Human Resources.
