Flamenco dancers, mariachi musicians, and sangria added plenty of Spanish pizzazz to the 13th annual Starry, Starry Night scholarship benefit held by the Hamilton Holt School on Friday, April 17. In an evening that was as lively as Madrid after dark, there was no shortage of Spanish-themed surprises, including an affable bull and his red-caped matador. A gourmet dinner by Arthur’s Catering followed a cocktail party, and both silent and live auctions offered everything from fine artwork to overseas adventures. The live auction featured Channel 9’s Barbara West and auctioneer Wade West.
Since 1997, Starry, Starry Night has helped hundreds of students in Rollins’ evening degree program by raising more than $1.5 million in scholarship funds. “The generous contributions of our Starry, Starry Night benefactors,” said Acting Dean Jim Eck, “have allowed many students of academic merit and financial need to expand their educational and professional horizons by attending Rollins College.”
