A thousand electric stars twinkled above more than 500 guests savoring Tuscan shrimp and sipping chilled Proseco at a sidewalk café by the steps of the Forum on Friday, April 18 as the Hamilton Holt School held its 12th annual Starry, Starry Night scholarship benefit.
In addition to a cocktail party, gourmet dinner, and auctions offering everything from fine artwork to overseas adventures, the Italian-themed gala featured new-age chamber music, Orlando Opera arias, masked mimes, stilt walkers, a singing chef, and a Roman chariot.
Since 1997, the event has raised more than $1.4 million in scholarship funds for Holt students. “Without the generous support of our Starry, Starry Night benefactors,” said Dean Sharon Carrier, “many deserving students would be unable to experience the benefits of a Rollins College education.”
