Adventure to India on a Starry, Starry Night

On the evening of April 20, guests of the 16th annual Starry, Starry Night scholarship fundraising event will step onto a magic carpet at the entrance of Rollins’ Alfond Sports Center and end up somewhere between New Delhi and Mumbai. Once there, they’ll be dazzled by the exotic and come to expect the unexpected. The ivory domed building across the room just might be the Taj Mahal. The jingle-jangling swirl beneath a twinkle of colored lights is probably a silk-clad belly dancer. That delectable scent in the air is most likely Kashmiri cuisine mingling with the flowers of Lodhi Gardens. And that well-fed creature in the corner looking rather shy? Why, that’s probably an elephant or a camel. Or both.

In its 15 years, Starry, Starry Night has raised more than $1.8 million for Hamilton Holt School student scholarships and has become the premier gala event in Central Florida, providing an opportunity for recognized business and community leaders to come together for a very worthy cause. The gala features a cocktail party, a gourmet dinner, live music, entertainment, and auctions offering everything from exquisite jewelry to exclusive artwork to overseas vacations. Not to mention a very traditional element of surprise.

Starry, Starry Night also provides excellent business exposure for auction item donors. Event guests who purchase auction items often become repeat customers of the businesses who donated them. Available now, corporate tables for this year’s event are $5,000 and $3,000, and individual tickets are $300. Event sponsorships are available at $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000.
