Sindy Cassidy ’92 ’98MHR
has seen the Holt School from three perspectives. As an undergraduate
student, a graduate student, and an adjunct instructor, she has been
observing Holt students for 20 years. At the Senior Recognition
Ceremony on May 8 at Knowles Memorial Chapel, Cassidy identified the
student qualities she consistently witnessed: discipline and
determination.
“Everyone’s story was different,” Cassidy said, “but the common goal and purpose was the same—to better themselves, provide for their families, and make a difference.” While earning her degrees, Cassidy took a four-year “break” to have two children while working full time. Her own discipline and determination paid off. Cassidy is now the executive vice president for Right Management, the largest global human resources consulting firm in the world.
Cassidy had advice for graduates about to pursue jobs. “Take those Holt student qualities of discipline and determination and use them in your search,” she said. “A degree from Rollins differentiates you from others seeking the same or similar work.” She urged them to stay connected to Rollins. “Networking is still the key to finding employment,” she said. “When people comment on the success of my career, I tell them that my degrees from Rollins and the network I built there have directly contributed to where I am today.”
