Graphic Design Instructors

Christopher Husein

Christopher is a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a degree in Digital Media. With industry experience of over ten years, Christopher has worked on everything from developing websites to building video games. In the past he worked with government programs to create graphics and develop interactive media for the simulation and training industry. Christopher just shipped NCAA College Football 14 and he is currently working on other titles such as Madden 15 with EA Sports.

Christopher's skill-set includes knowledge of design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, After Effects and 3D Studio Max.

When he is not working he enjoys painting, rock climbing and being outside.

Jack Parry

Jack has been in the graphic design field for 30 years. From advertising to printing to corporate graphics to owning his own design studio, Jack is enjoying a career doing what he always wanted to do. Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat, he also enjoys Keynote for presentations and Carrara for 3D illustration and animation. He lives in Valrico, FL with his wife, Elizabeth, and daughter, Sarah. His son, David is in the Army Reserve. Active in his church, he also enjoys long distance running (completing 2 marathons, several half marathons and one Tough Mudder and someday an Ironman), and riding his motorcycle.

Jason Ratner

Jason is originally from New York and a graduate of Pratt Institute of Design in Brooklyn, he moved to Orlando to pursue a dream. With persistence, hard work and passion for design, Jason was eventually able to make his dream a reality. Currently he is a full-time Graphic Designer for The Walt Disney Company and loving every moment. With more than 7 years of graphic design experience, he has had the opportunity to explore, grow and apply his  skills toward many different disciplines including brand identity and logo development, art direction, environmental design, event theme and exhibit graphics and marketing strategy. 

Jason says that being a designer is no easy task, yet he always finds himself up for the challenge. “I'm someone who pushes to inspire and one who takes great pride in the type of work I create. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to mentor new designers and help others around me embark on their own career path. Having this opportunity to teach design at Rollins College will allow me to pursue this more than even before and I'm looking forward to it!”

Owen St. Gelais

Owen is the Art Director and Lead Designer at Hawkeye Brothers Signs and Graphics in Daytona Beach, FL where he creates vehicle wraps and promotional materials for NASCAR, IMSA Racing, and a number of race teams; as well as providing marketing resources for many local businesses.

He Graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2012 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Print Making, and has more than 12 years of experience using the Adobe Creative Suite software.

Barbara Widerman

A Florida native born in Cocoa Beach, Barbara Widerman brings with her over 20 years’ experience in creative design and direction. In her capacity as owner of an independent marketing and brand consulting group, Barbara has worked with a wide range of companies like Tupperware, Mattel, the American Red Cross, Hard Rock Café and Disney in the design, production and delivery of key sales, promotional and marketing materials. She has also worked in tandem with clients and assumed directive roles within their organizations to manage the restructuring of art departments, the repackaging of entire product lines and the direction of global marketing strategies.

In her new role as Digital Media Manager for Harris Corporation, Barbara will oversee the company’s digital marketing deliver of a multitude of social media, content marketing, and email marketing projects. Her vast experience working in extreme-paced production environments and her insight into the challenges and considerations of servicing multilingual client bases will prove invaluable in fulfilling the position as the Capstone instructor for the Graphic Design Certification program.
