IRS Delayed Tax Filing Season

As a result of the late tax law changes by Congress, the IRS plans to open tax filing seaon on January 30, 2013. This will also delay the availability for families to utilze the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The U.S. Department of Education is estimating that you will be able to take advantage of the retrieval tool in late February. The Rollins Financial Aid Office highly encourages you to wait until you have filed your federal tax returns and can utilize the retrieval tool; however, you can estimate your income information if the priority deadline is approaching (March 1st for new students and April 15th for returning students).
