Federal Student Aid funding is at a critical point in our history. As a result of the economic downturn, $30 billion has already been cut from federal student aid programs. The Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction (also known as the Super Committee) is currently meeting to develop a plan to reduce the U.S. debt. While more students than ever rely on federal student aid, more reductions to federal student aid may be recommended by this committee. We need your voice to let Congress and specifically Super Committee members know how critical it is to preserve federal student aid. The National Association of Financial Aid Administrators has developed a website and we are asking for you to visit this website. If you agree with the statement, please consider signing the petition in support. Your voice is powerful, so please join us in asking the Super Committee and our lawmakers to Save Student Aid.
