Changes in Florida State Aid
The 2011 Florida Legislative Session ended May 6, 2011, and passed bills that affect state-funded financial aid programs. Here is a summary of the main changes impacting Rollins students for the 2011-2012 academic year:
- Florida Academic Scholars Bright Futures Award will now be awarded at $101 per credit hour.
- Florida Medallion Scholars Bright Futures Award will now be awarded at $76 per credit hour.
- Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) will be $2,149.
- All students who receive one or more of the above awards need to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is a new requirement.
Award letters have been revised and email notifications sent to those impacted. In addition, the Office of Financial Aid will contact students who have not filed the FAFSA.
