Meet the Explorations Team!

Rollins Explorations is lead by a dynamic and vibrant team of professional and student staff members. The truth is we love Rollins and we loved our first year at college, and we want you to have an incredible experience like we did!

About Meghan:

Meghan Harte

Hello! Welcome to the Explorations team. I am Meghan Harte Executive Director for Student Success, and I am incredibly excited to get to know you this fall.

A little bit about me…I grew up just outside of Ann Arbor, MI in Hell, MI. Yes, that’s right: Hell. I can’t make this stuff up. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2004 with a B.S. in psychology and minors in human growth and development and political theory. I earned my Masters' in education from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. I loved living so close to Lake Michigan for three years. Those of you who have been to the Great Lakes can understand my love for them those of you who have not need to vacation on the Lakes!

I moved to Winter Park, Fla. in June 2007 (just in time for the Florida summer) to serve as the assistant director of Multicultural Affairs here at Rollins College. I have a passion for multiculturalism, identity development, and the concept of unbuntu , “I am who I am because you are who you are.” I joined the Explorations team in 2008!

Other things you should know about me…I love my family more than anything in the world. They are the smartest and funniest people in my life, and I am lucky they like me! I have an adorable niece who I love to visit, and I have a puppy named Lola who rocks! I am lucky because I have so many amazing friends all across the country. I... talk a lot, am quite sarcastic, don't take much to seriously, require a sense of humor to be around, am brutally honest. I am extremely realistic and yet a hopeless romantic at heart(but don't tell anyone that). I love... animals and little kids, expensive chocolate, all types of shoes, wearing skirts in the summer, blue jeans and t-shirts, toe nail polish, getting my hair washed, reading huge books for fun, sailing, the feeling of new socks, the smell of fresh bread, Greek food, traveling, laying on the beach, sunshine, huge snowflakes, rainbows, full coolers in the summertime, the smell of suntan lotion, and then the smell of aloe vera, getting sand in my shoes, flip flops, the color brown, candy, popcorn at the movies, road trips, fountain pop, calendars, office supplies, building snowmen, stargazing, swimming, hot tubs, traveling, expensive hotels, geckos, needing a passport, popsicles, small towns, outdoor malls at Christmas, candy canes, peanut butter, the mall in the middle of the week, driving when its sunny, conference calls, sleeping in, the food network, finger painting, fudge, the sand dunes, golfing, laughing, target, the zoo, stationary, mascara, post cards, fresh flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass, waffles.... I don't know what else there is to say

About Gabe:

gabeHi! I’m Gabe Anderson, Explorations’ Assistant Director. I grew up outside Orlando in the world famous Oviedo, famed for the chickens who hang out downtown (strangely, their spot is right next to Popeyes—I don’t think anyone ever told them what goes on in there) and for the fact that in some halcyon past we were known as “The Celery Capital of the World.” Yep, and my first high school used to have the “Celery Feds” as its mascot. I don’t know what that means, because the twin pillars of internet research, Google and Wikipedia, are strangely silent on the matter.

Despite my inability to handle cold weather, I decided to brave the fierce winters in the farthest, chilliest, most northern reaches of our great country, aka Richmond, VA to attend the University of Richmond.  (Don’t let me fool you—Richmond is actually a lovely place.)While I was there I studied economics and math; went abroad for a semester to Khon Kaen, Thailand; played with our varsity and club soccer teams; and went on two volunteer trips to New Orleans to help rebuild in the aftermath of Katrina.

After I graduated, I came back to Florida where I saved up enough money working construction and landscaping to move to Raleigh, where I survived another winter, started mountain biking, and saved up enough money to travel the world for 5 months. I ended up spending 2 months in sunny London, and 3 months split between Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Burma. I then proceeded posthaste back to Winter Park, where I spent the next year as Rollins’ AmeriCorps volunteer (think Peace Corps, in the U.S.). My term ended in July, and now I’m excited to be with Explorations!

I loved my time in college because of all the opportunities I had to try out new experiences (like living in rural Thailand, doing nuclear physics research while living with a crew of 5 Bulgarians, being president of my residence hall), meet new people from all over the world, and learn new skills (like speaking Thai, rock climbing, calculating the marginal benefit and cost for any activity, and writing impossible-to-diagram run-on sentences with entirely too many clauses). I hope you will similarly love your time at Rollins, and will do whatever I can to make sure you do!

About Kaley:

Kaley

Hi, my name is Kaley Sinclair and I’m the Program Coordinator of the Rollins Explorations team.  I graduated May of 2010 from Rollins College Arts and Sciences with a double major in Anthropology and Psychology.  I am currently in the Rollins Masters in Mental Health Counseling program.  I loved my time at Rollins so much that I didn’t want to leave, and here I still am!  I am from Maitland, Florida (which is ten minutes north of Rollins) and I pretty much grew up on Rollins’ campus.  I love: my family and friends, my dogs, ballroom dancing (especially salsa and rumba), road trips, dancing in the rain, curling up with a good book, Anthropology, Psychology, Rollins, baking, traveling, Fern Creek Elementary, Give Kids The World, going for long walks, Al’s pancake flips, natural light, the ocean, living in Central Florida, fall, and walking around campus really early in the morning.  I am so excited to meet you all and learn what you are passionate about.  Rollins is an amazing place to explore and dive into those passions, and I can’t wait to help you with that process.  I learned so much at Rollins and am a much better person because of my time here.  I hope you will feel the same way and love it as much as I do.  See you this fall!

About Rob:

rob

Hi, my name is Rob Spolsino and I am a Junior Student Coordinator at Rollins.  Coming out of high school, I truly had no idea what area of study suited my personal strengths and interests.  Luckily, Rollins counted on this, and I was able to try a variety of Majors before settling on what I consider to be my true passion, Psychology.  I enjoy applying what I learn in class to my daily life, and feel that is a truly noticeable determinant of a quality education.  I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I do not experience at least one of these real life comparisons.  In addition to Student Coordinator, I am also a Resident Assistant in the Sutton residence hall, a member of the fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon, and row for the Rollins Crew team.  Currently, I am in the process of researching Graduate programs in various fields  of Psychology and am optimistic about my pursuit of furthering my education.  As a Student Coordinator in Explorations, I am eager to give back to the institution that has given me so many opportunities.  I look forward to sharing my Rollins spirit with each incoming first year, in hopes of inspiring them to have as meaningful a college experience as I have.

 About Eddie:

EddieHey guys, my name is Eddie Dobrowolski and I am so excited to be part of the Explorations team this year, woot woot!  I came to Rollins from a small town in New Hampshire and I’m so happy I made the decision to do so.  For those of you who have never been to New Hampshire it’s beautiful, but it also gets really cold in the winter so I decided I’d rather lay by the pool in January as opposed to shoveling snow.  I came from a very small high school with less than 250 students, and when choosing a school I was looking for a place that was relatively similar to that; turns out Rollins has been a perfect fit.  My favorite thing about this place is that because of the small class sizes you are able to build relationships with all of your professors and that has helped me become a successful student.  I am currently a sophomore, with a major in economics and a minor in communication.  I became a Student Coordinator through my role as a Peer Mentor this year.  I am also a part of Student Government here at Rollins and I am excited about the possibility of starting the new Fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha on campus this spring.  Family, friends, music, and sports are all incredibly important to me.    I am absolutely pumped to meet all of you in the fall!

 About Jessica:

JessicaHello! I'm Jessica Aubrey, but many just call me "J" or "Jaubrey." After serving as a Peer Mentor and Summer Orientation Leader for two years, I couldn't be more excited to join team Explo as a student coordinator! I'm from Vero Beach, Florida, I am a junior, English major-- and I wish I could stay in college forever. I enjoy being involved in Explorations, as well a writing consultant and student coordinator for the tutoring and writing center known as TJ's.

A few other things I enjoy are: movies, reading, fluffy animals, coffee, Gatorade, olives, volleyball, and theme parks

 About Sanjay:

SanjayHi, my name is Sanjay Rana and I am a student coordinator with Explorations. My hometown is Kathmandu, Nepal and I am in my first year here at Rollins. I am an International student. I am also probably one of the oldest freshman in the history of the College of Arts and Science at Rollins. Seriously! Why? Well, that’s because I served in the Nepalese Military as an officer for six years before joining Rollins, hence the picture. College life has been quite a drastic change for me, especially because of my background, but Rollins has helped me a great deal in adjusting to a life of a student. I love the campus. It is an amazing place and truly cares for its students.I feel extremely fortunate to be here.

I am a very adventurous person and love the outdoors, especially hiking. It’s one of the things I miss from back home in Nepal. As you know Florida is kind of flat. Going to school in Florida does however have its advantages. Where else could you go to classes in flip-flops all year long? I am also really into music and play the guitar pretty well.

I am involved in various organizations on campus. I am involved with the International Student Organization, Making Live Better (a service organization), and I volunteer frequently for the Office of Community Engagement on various service-oriented projects. These organizations have offered me a great deal of opportunities for growth. I hope to see you all at Rollins this Fall.
