Tim Flanagan, MA
Tim Flanagan’s rich background and experience in corporate training and development, higher education, individual and organizational assessment, and executive consulting provide him a wealth of insight and knowledge in the Human Resources Development field. Tim specializes in designing and delivering interventions that enable individuals and groups to discover, assess and improve their performance and capabilities.
He is Senior Instructor and Director of Custom Programs at the Leadership Development Institute (LDI), Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, FL. His role includes being lead instructor for the Center for Creative Leadership programs in leadership and team development. Tim is a frequent presenter at national and regional conferences and meetings. His recent speaking engagements have included presentations at the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings, the National Security Agency, Cornell University, the national convention of the American Society of Training and Development and the International Conference on Assessment Center Methods.
Tim is the author of a best selling books, Becoming a Conflict Competent Leader, published in October, 2006 and Building Conflict Competent Teams, released in June 2008.
Tim’s experience includes managing the leadership development programs at the 30,000 employee Harris Corporation in Melbourne, FL, directing the training and development organization for AAA – Auto Club South, Tampa, FL, and serving as a senior level consultant with Development Dimensions International, Pittsburgh, PA, and Paradigm Learning, Tampa, FL. In his consulting roles, Tim has provided services to scores of Fortune 500 companies, including PepsiCo, Boeing, Toyota, Xerox, GE, Daimler-Chrysler, International Paper, Shell Oil, Caterpillar, Marsh, Tech Data and Nabisco. He has also worked extensively with federal, state and local government agencies and a variety of non-profit organizations.
His relationship with Rollins College began in 2002. Over the years he has played a key role in delivering the Embracing Leadership Excellence program. Tim teaches in the Crummer Supervision Program and delivers a custom Conflict Management program several times a year sponsored by Management and Executive Education.
Tim earned his MA at the Ohio State University in education, specializing in adult learning, and his BA in psychology, history and education at Muskingum College, New Concord, OH.
