Dr. Keith Whittingham is an Associate Professor at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, USA, where he teaches courses in Social Entrepreneurship, Sustainability and Quantitative Analysis. He also serves as Visiting Faculty in the Sustainability Seminar at INCAE, in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Keith acquired an early interest in global sustainable development. His studies in engineering (BSEE Howard University, Ph.D. Cornell University) led to interests in renewable energy and developed skills in innovation and problem solving. However, it is during the last decade of teaching MBA students that he has become a strong proponent of enterprise and entrepreneurship as powerful vehicles in addressing global social concerns.
In addition to serving on the Rollins College Committee on Environmental and Sustainability Issues, Dr. Whittingham was a founder of the college’s Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Initiative. Keith serves as faculty advisor to the Rollins Net Impact chapter and has also served on the advisory boards of a number of social enterprises with global reach.
Over the past four years, Keith has taken several groups of MBA students to Costa Rica to work with local tourism businesses on Rollins Global Consulting Projects and to study sustainability as part of his “Global Sustainability” course. He has also co-developed a new MBA course entitled Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Enterprise.
Additionally, over the past decade, his acclaimed Leadership/Organizational Development workshop “Aligning People and Passions for Enhanced Organizational Effectiveness,” has impacted and ignited hundreds of participants across the United States at companies like Walt Disney World and Darden Restaurants. Keith has also provided executive feedback and coaching to numerous leaders. His engaging, attentive manner and personal style make him an empathetic yet challenging coach.
