The Disability Services Office welcomes you to Rollins College, where inclusion is valued, and we find strength in the diversity of our students, faculty, and staff. Our office exists to help facilitate access as we work collaboratively within the Rollins community to identify barriers, implement accessible solutions, and help educate others, while recognizing the many lenses that disability can be viewed through by society. My philosophical perspective surrounding disability is one of social justice and advocacy, and the belief in the inherent worth, value, and unique strengths of all people. At Rollins College, all students gain academic admission using the same criteria, and students with disabilities are held to the same rigorous academic standards as their peers. Reasonable accommodations are assessed on an individual basis and utilized to create equitable access to curricular and co-curricular experiences.
We recognize the students’ responsibility in using accommodations in accordance with our procedures, which promote self-advocacy and independence. Disability Services falls under the Student and Family Care Alignment, and the ability to provide service excellence with care and concern for each person’s individual circumstances is our top priority. If you have any questions or concerns that our office can assist with, please stop in or reach out at any time.
