I am currently a first-year student with the intention of becoming a Psychology and Anthropology double major at Rollins College. Currently I work as a SOAP for the Office of Community Engagement. It is a very rewarding job: I get to work with an amazing bunch of people in an environment that supports personal growth and understanding of self through service work. Coincidentally, my first encounter with OCE was during my freshman summer orientation when we went over to Fern Creek Elementary to implement a service learning project. It was such a great experience that I came back for the second session of orientation to participate in the project the second time around! Since then I’ve been working closely with OCE. I consider myself lucky that I was able to find my niche on campus early on in my experience. I plan to continue being an active participant in the various events taking place through OCE such as Help for the Homeless which I attended during Service Week which took place at the beginning of the year. The Office of Community Engagement is a great place to go if you want to become a part of something that is greater than yourself.

I am a current Senior at Rollins and work as a SOAP at the Office of Community Engagement. I enjoy working in the interactive environment provided at Chase Hall because it makes me feel like an integral part of the Rollins Community. I am a Music Major, specifically a Bassoon Major, and a communications minor. I have enjoyed my years here at Rollins and will be sad to leave. I am a member of Kappa Delta sorority and serve as the Public Relations chair for Panhellenic, the governing body of sorority life. OCE has provided me with a greater scope of the possibilities available to Rollins students for outreach in the community and beyond.

I am a current Junior at Rollins and work as a soap at the Office of Community Engagement. I choose to work at OCE because I love what the office and people who make it up stand for. I am a sociology major and women studies minor and love the learning environment here at Rollins. Within OCE I am involved in several organizations, currently I serve as a student coordinator of JUMP and I’m the local projects director of Rollins relief. OCE is a great place to serve, learn, and to see beyond our selves to reach out to a greater community.

I am a 3/2 AMP student and currently in my senior year/first year of Crummer. I studied English and Communications during my undergrad, but am now working on completing my MBA. I work in the Office of Community Engagement as a SOAP and enjoy assisting projects that create a valuable connections between students and community partners. In addition to working in OCE, I am also the director of Dance Marathon--a program which brings students together at one of the largest campus events to raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network. As a SOAP, I get the chance to work with amazing people while promoting Rollins' goal of citizenship and service-learning.

I am a senior this year. I am originally from Bogota, Colombia and I came to the United States when I was 15 years old. I am an Economics major at Rollins, and also, a French minor. I love to learn about different cultures and I hope I can learn at least two more languages in the future. I started working at the Office of Community Engagement the last semester of my Junior year, and I began working as a SOAP, assisting with administrative work, facilitating meetings, and my favorite part, trying to make our office look better. I work mostly decorating our public places, including the walls in Chase and our Board in the Cornell Campus Center. I love working with people and this is why I enjoy working at Chase. I also worked on Five Minute Difference last semester, and try to promote student involvement with our community.

I transferred to Rollins last Spring. I'm now a Junior and an Education major! My first experience with the Office of Community Engagement was Pathways to College with Fern Creek Elementary. After volunteering that day I was hooked! I love working as a SOAP in OCE because it has helped me meet a lot of great people and has helped me get involved. I oversee 5-Minute Difference which happens every Friday in front of the Campus Center. I set up quick service projects that students can complete in 5 minutes or less! I love this project because I get to choose activities which help people in a variety of areas, including some that are very personal and important to me such as making cards for women who have just found out that they have Ovarian Cancer. The Office of Community Engagement is a great place to go if you want to get involved with things on and off campus and it's a great place to work!
