Meredith Hein serves as the assistant director for the Office of Community
Engagement at Rollins College. She completed her master's degree in education
leadership: student personnel administration at UCF in May of 2007. A native
Floridian, she is originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Meredith feels that
working in higher education allows her to continually learn from those around
her, as well as to teach. Meredith loves to learn and laugh, and as a member of
the Rollins community, she gets the opportunity to do that on a daily basis.
Motivating, teaching, and giving back to others is what inspires Meredith to be
only a small part of such an amazingly engaged community. She plays an active
role in overseeing the JUMP initiative and SPARC program. For Meredith, it is more than
watching the students grow after 4 years of college, it is as Lao Tzu once
said, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and
you feed him for a lifetime.”
Additionally, in her free time, Meredith loves spending time with friends and
family. She also really enjoys dining out, watching movies, playing with her
dog Jack, rooting on the Yankees and catching up on sleep!
