Rollins
College holds a distinctive place in higher education. From its founding
in 1885, the College has grown from a small liberal arts undergraduate
institution to a comprehensive college with more than 3,000 students.
Today, it is recognized as one of the outstanding academic institutions
in the Southeast.
The Department of Communication offers undergraduate
programs for adult learners who are interested in managing their own
futures. Our faculty members are dedicated to rigorous education in a
responsive environment, scholarship, and creative endeavor. In their
classes, they stress the communication skills business professionals
will need in the 21st century.
The Organizational Communication major in the Hamilton Holt School of
the college is the largest academic major at Rollins College. Students
complete ten core courses and then choose a cognate area of three
courses to study management communication, marketing communication, or
public relations. The graduates of this program then move seamlessly
into a variety of corporate and professional positions. In the popular
communication minor in the School of Arts and Sciences, traditional age
students combine the six courses of the minor with any major of the
college to better guarantee that they have the important communication
skills necessary for any liberal arts graduate in today's marketplace.
For students interested in pursuing the study of communication, all
of our programs provide the ideal learning environment. Our class sizes
are small, our experienced and award winning faculty is renowned for its
teaching skills, and our commitment to meeting the needs of our students
is unparalleled. We invite you to join us!
