The Department of Communication sponsors two
organizations for communication students in the Arts & Sciences
School, the Hamilton Holt School and for our graduate students in the
MACCT program.
Communique is the Rollins College
student chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), and
provides a forum for students and faculty members to discuss
communication related issues especially those in the discipline of
public relations. Student members receive a host of benefits from
belonging to the chapter and are eligible for significant scholarship
aid provided by FPRA.
The department also sponsors the Kappa Xi chapter of
Lambda
Pi Eta, the national communication honor society. Lambda Pi Eta is
fully accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS),
was established in 1985, and has over 300 chapters and more than 5000
members nation wide. Kappa Xi provides communication students with an
opportunity to belong to an organization whose members recognize the
importance of communication in our society.
