Faculty Biography

Greg Cavenaugh (Ph.D., Louisiana State University 2004) has been a visiting assistant professor at Rollins College since 2005, teaching courses in interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, communication theory, communication ethics, rhetoric of religion, and introduction to media and cultural studies. His primary research areas are gender and communication and spiritual communication. Recent research projects include a study of the relationship between occultism in the nineteenth century and the origins of American speech education, a theoretical exploration of dialogue in long-term relationships, and an ethnographic study of the construction of Christianity at the Holy Land Experience theme park, which is owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Network. He is a founding member of the Rollins College Safe Zone, which works to facilitate a safe environment for GLBTQI identities at Rollins College.
