Cornell Museum & Art Department Host ‘Senior Art Show’

Winter Park, Fla. — Rollins College’s Cornell Fine Arts Museum and art department have jointly mounted the 2004 Senior Art Show, which runs from April 19 through May 9 at the Cornell Campus Center on the Rollins campus.  The 2004 Senior Art Show, a juried exhibition featuring the work of 14 graduating studio art majors, includes a diverse range of art — from figurative to abstract, from anatomical studies to environmental subjects, documentary and portrait photos, and design work.  The 50 works in the show use a variety of media — printmaking, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and traditional and digital photography — and most works are for sale.

The public is invited to a free reception to honor the artists — Jane Ahlering, Elizabeth Cartwright, Jennifer Edson, Patrick Anthony Evans, Jessica Lynn Fricke, Ashli Michelle Gagliano, Holly R. Hoffman, Kendal Johnson, Ginelle Morales, Tomo Ogawa, Jessamyn Olson, Stacey Perry, Jennifer Roth, Vanessa Sain, and Amanda Stevens — on Friday, April 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rollins’s Cornell Campus Center.  Refreshments will be provided by Austin Coffee and Film, located at 923 West Fairbanks Avenue in Winter Park, where the some of same 14 students will display additional works in a “Salon des refusés.”  (Austin Coffee and Film will host a reception for the “Salon des refusés” at 8 p.m., on Friday, April 23, immediately following the Senior Art Show reception.)  The Cornell Campus Center is located behind the Thomas P. Johnson Resource Center on Mills lawn and next to the Olin Library.  Parking is available in the SunTrust Parking Garage at 400 East Park Avenue in downtown Winter Park.

The Cornell Fine Arts Museum is currently undergoing an expansion project and will reopen to the public in the fall of 2005.  The 2004 Senior Art Show exhibition at the Cornell Campus Center is available daily from 6 a.m. to midnight.  For more information, please call 407-646-2526 or visit the Cornell’s web site at www.rollins.edu/cfam.
