ROLLINS COLLEGE GRADUATING STUDIO ART MAJORS EXHIBIT AT THE CORNELL

 


Winter Park, FL- The 2007 Senior Art Exhibition opens at the Cornell Fine Arts Museum on Friday, April 27, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public.  The exhibition will remain on view through Sunday, May 13. 

The show is a culmination of the undergraduate work of the nine graduating Studio Art majors of the Department of Art and Art History at Rollins College.  Participating artists include Catherine E. Gurri, Erin M. Hathway, Thomas M. Hirschmann, Jr., Jaime M. Laino, Maria Petrakos, Alyssa C. Porrello, Sarah E. Stead, Brandy L. Vanderwerken, and Hannah B. Walsh. The exhibition encompasses an array of painting, photography and mixed media works of art.   Many of the works are available for purchase.

Through May 20th, the Museum continues to have on view Henri Matisse’s JAZZ; Crossing the Line: African American Artists in the Jacqueline Bradley and Clarence Otis, Jr. Collection; Nick Cave’s Soundsuits; and Philadelphia Wireman. The exhibition Diverse Africa: Selections from Ambassador and Mrs. Ulric Haynes, Jr. Collection will reopen May 15th and remain on view throughout the summer.  For more information, please call the Cornell Museum at 407-646-2526 or visit the Museum’s website at www.rollins.edu/cfam.  Gallery hours are 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 pm Sunday.  Admission is $5 for adults.  There is no charge for CFAM members, Rollins College faculty and staff, and all students with current ID.
