Obtaining an R-Card

All persons who are part of the Rollins College community are required to obtain an R-Card. This includes any faculty, staff or student that is currently active on campus.

Requirements for Obtaining an RCard

Before receiving an R-Card, all requesters must provide a valid government-issued photo identification card to prove the requesters identification. There are no exceptions to this rule. Examples of a government-issued ID are listed below.

  • State-issued driver’s license
  • State-issued identification card
  • Passport
  • Military identification card

New Students

To obtain an R-Card as a new student, one must fill out the form below and then present the necessary information to pick up your R-Card.

College of Arts and Sciences

  • Go through the orientation process
  • Obtain stamp on required fields in orientation packet
  • Present R-Number found on orientation packet
  • Present a valid government-issued ID

Hamilton Holt School

  • Register for classes
  • Present proof of registration (ex. Class schedule, Holt R-Card request form)
  • Present a valid government-issued ID

Crummer Graduate School

  • Go through the orientation process
  • Present a valid government-issued ID

New Faculty/Staff Member

Each new faculty and staff member must also present an orange faculty/staff R-Card request form. You may obtain this form from the Human Resources department, which proves that all required paperwork for employment has been completed.

Current R-Card Holder

There are four reasons you may need to replace an R-Card. Below are instructions on what you need to do to get a new card.

Lost/Stolen

  • Contact the R-Card Office or Campus Security to freeze your record or log in to Blackboard to freeze the card online.
  • Stop by the R-Card Office to purchase a replacement,
  • If frozen, request the person printing the card to unfreeze your card,
  • If your room has a Persona lock:
    • Use the auto updater to encode the card
    • Test the card in the door
    • If unable to encode, go to Residential Life for assistance

Worn

  • Stop by the R-Card Office to obtain a replacement,
  • If card is damaged or if there is evidence of misuse, the cardholder may be charged for a replacement,
  • If your room has a Persona lock:
    • Use the auto updater to encode the card
    • Test the card in the door
    • If unable to encode, go to Residential Life for assistance

Change of Status

  • Present verification of change of status (Faculty/staff card request form, official student class schedule, etc.)
  • Return old R-Card for replacement card,
  • If card has been already destroyed, present a government-issued ID

Change of Name

  • Contact Human Resources (for faculty/staff), Student Records (for Arts and Sciences), or the program enrolled in (Holt or Crummer) to update the record,
  • Provide proof of a change of name (government issued ID, marriage license, etc.)
  • Return old R-Card for replacement card

Photo Submission

Sumbitted photos will only be accepted if they match all of the guidelines listed bellow.

  • Background must be a solid color (White or other light neutral color preferred)
  • No other objects or persons can be in the photo,
  • Wall or a solid backdrop is acceptable.
  • Photo must be a front shot with both sides of the face visible
  • Cropping guidelines:
    • Upper boundary is about two inches above cardholder’s head
    • Lower boundary is no higher than collar-bone (about 4 to 6 inches below the chin)
    • Side boundaries is from the top of the cardholder's shoulders
    • Photo's length and width must be of equal size
  • Smiling or a serious expression is acceptable. No other gestures or expressions will be accepted,
  • No hats or obstructions of the face will be accepted

Submit your photo by completing the form under the "New Students" tab. All photos will be reviewed to ensure requirements are met. If the requirements are not met, R-Cards will not be presented to the requester without taking a new photo.

The R-Card office will accept photos up to TWO BUSINESS DAYS before orientation.  All other photos must be taken at orientation or at the R-Card office.
