If your camper is not attending the first day of camp, please do not pick up the nametag and schedule. Both the nametag and schedule will be distributed on the first day the camper attends.

First Day Details

The first day of camp is an opportunity for campers and parents to come meet camp administration, teachers, counselors, and new camp friends! A brief introduction is made by the camp director and campers are then taken to their first class. Important information such as camp rules and pick-up/drop-off maps is given.

A.M. Supervised Recreation and A.M. Swimming/Tennis Classes on First Day

The additional A.M. Supervised Recreation and Beginner and Competitive Swimming/Tennis classes will be taking place on the first day of camp. You may drop your camper off at the designated drop-off location. If you plan to stay for the orientation, please park in the SunTrust garage, as indicated above. If you are unable to attend the orientation session, your child will be escorted from their A.M. classes to the Chapel and will be supervised the entire time.

Drop-off and Pick-up Information

  • Traditional Day Drop-off: 8:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
  • Traditional Day Pick-up: 3:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.*
  • A.M. Supervised Recreation Drop-off, Swimming, & Tennis: 7:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. - In order to ensure the campers' safety, all campers must be physically walked into Camp Base, not just dropped off outside. Please park in the 15 minute parking spots located near Camp Base. You will need to escort your camper(s) into Camp Base office. There will be directional signs leading to Camp Base.**Please note the change from previous years, Swimming and Tennis classes will not be held on the first day of camp.**
  • P.M. Supervised Recreation Pick-up: 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Please park in the 15 minute parking spots located near Camp Base. Follow the directional signs that lead to Camp Base. Campers must be signed out of camp base each day. Only the authorized adults on the pick-up list will be able to sign the camper(s) out. To ensure the campers' safety, ID's will be checked, so please bring a valid picture ID for verification.

*Traditional afternoon pick-up starts at 3:00 p.m. and thus we strongly urge parents not to arrive earlier than 3:00 p.m., as that will create traffic woes. The line of cars can be moved quickly if we do not have a line of cars waiting prior to 3:00 p.m. Campers are not available at the pick-up site until 3:00 p.m. Campers who are not picked up by 3:20 p.m. will be brought to Camp Base. Fees will be assesed for campers who have multiple late pick-ups.

What to Bring

Please send your child with a backpack. They will not be given lockers, so a backpack is great to hold their belongings. *Please label all of your camper's belongings, backpacks, water bottles, etc.* Please pack their backpacks with any materials needed for classes, i.e. swim suits, towels, sun screen, personal tennis racquets, etc. Please also send snacks and bottled water with your children (see the Lunch Menu & Snacks section for more information).

Other notes: Please have your children wear closed-toe shoes due to the rugged terrain. "Wheely" shoes are not permitted. Please leave electronic games, iPods, and other expensive devices at home.
