Grab your paintbrush and canvas! Join us for a journey through time to explore a variety of art styles and the artists behind the masterpieces. An assortment of art mediums will be used - drawing, painting, and mixed media.
Ever wonder what is is like to be an artist? Here's a change to express yourself using 3D art techniques including foam, clay and plaster. Campers will also learn about artists, including famous sculptors and other artists that use 3D techniques.
Calling all young actors! Campers will write and produce their own mini-plays while learning improvisational, acting and staging techniques in a fun and interactive atmosphere during this fun-filled course!
Blast off with aeronautics! Have a blast during this “out of this world” class which will answer intriguing questions about aviation and aerospace. Campers will begin the class making their own paper airplanes, and will end by launching their own rockets!
This class is more than just playing with blocks! Campers will be using various materials to conduct a rich science inquiry that integrates mathematics and science skills—from exploring shape, pattern, measurement, and spatial relationships to developing understandings of stability, balance, and properties of materials.
Are you ready for some fun with food? Measure in one cup cooking instruction, fold in a pinch of fun, and sprinkle in nutritional facts about the food pyramid. Blend all ingredients together to create a learning experience that will help campers make healthy food choices. This class will incorporate measuring skills, teamwork strategies, and proper dining etiquette.
What does it mean to “go green”? What can we all do for the environment? Campers will learn all about sustainability, recycling, and nature through educational and hands on activities in this fun science-based class.
Explore the media world and unleash your creativity! Campers will create digital media productions while working out of the Rollins television studio. Please note this class is only offered in 2 hour increments, so it will take up two back to back classes on your camper’s schedule.
Come enjoy some active indoor fun! Campers will learn how exercise and a healthy lifestyle can impact their overall health. Activities may include yoga, stretching, and team building exercises.
Are you ready to set sail? Campers will gain understanding of the fundamentals of sailing. Instruction will take place on beautiful Lake Virginia. Water safety is emphasized; life jackets are worn at all times while on the lake. Basic swimming skills required. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required.
*Campers must be at least 8 years old to participate.
This program is designed for the advanced boater. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required.
*Campers must have previously taken a Rollins Sailing & Canoeing course and be at least 8 years old.
*Additional option. This class is also offered in the A.M. prior to Camp each day from 8am—9am for advanced students only , the AM class has a one time fee of $255 per session, per child.
Just keep swimming! This multi-level course will introduce beginners to the basics, as well as challenge the advanced swimmer. Certified lifeguards and instructors will be present at all sessions. Classes utilize Red Cross’ “Learn to Swim” program. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required.
*Additional option. This class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and has a one-time fee of $255 per session, per child.
Come out and play! A variety of games, such as co-ed flag football, kickball, and other similar games will be played. Campers will build skills such as eye-hand/eye-foot coordination, balance, and agility. Special emphasis will be placed on teamwork, group strategy, cooperation, sportsmanship, self-esteem, and fun!
Grab your racket and get ready for some fun in the sun! Classes are structured for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Young athletes will learn the rules of the game, including court etiquette. This course will include instruction in forehand and backhand strokes, serves, volley, overhead smash, and footwork. Tennis racket required.
