The Arts

3D Art (New Class!)

This course will allow each camper to express themselves using 3D art techniques including foam, clay and plaster. Campers will also learn about artists, including famous sculptors and other artists that use 3D techniques. Availble for Trailblazers and Pathfinders.

Art

Calling all budding artists! Join us for a journey through time to explore a variety of art styles and the artists behind the masterpieces. An assortment of art mediums will be used - drawing, painting, and mixed media. Available for Voyagers.

Circus

Come join the circus! Learn to walk a tight rope, juggle, and clown around. Campers will create colorful routines and entertain others. Available for Voyagers.

Improv Theater

This course will develop and enhance each camper’s unique theatrical ability. Listening skills and memory will be enhanced through improvisation techniques and games. Available for Trailblazers and Pathfinders.

Enrichment

Aeronautics

Blast off with aeronautics! This “out of this world” class will answer intriguing questions about aviation and aerospace. Campers will begin the class making their own paper airplanes, and will end by launching their own rockets! Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers, and Pathfinders.

Board Game Bonanza (New Class!) 

Think outside the box! Creative thinking and problem-solving skills are developed using entertaining and thought provoking games and puzzles. Campers will build analytical skills as they learn how to devise strategies to be succesful game players and puzzle solvers. Each campers will also create their own board game. Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers, and Pathfinders.

Book Club

Both public and private school required reading texts will be used as campers engage in discussions and hands-on activities to bring the titles to life. Text titles will be published prior to the start of camp (check the Web site in May). One copy of each book will be provided to the camper. Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers and Pathfinders

Campers in the Kitchen

Measure in one cup cooking instruction, fold in a pinch of fun, and sprinkle in nutritional facts about the food pyramid. Blend all ingredients together to create a learning experience that will help campers make healthy food choices. This class will incorporate measuring skills, teamwork strategies, and proper dining etiquette. Available for Voyagers and Trailblazers

Movie Makers

Explore the media world and unleash your creativity! Campers will create digital media productions while working out of the Rollins television studio. Please note this class is only offered in 2 hour increments, so it will take up two back to back classes on your camper's schedule, either prior to lunch of after lunch. Available to Pathfinders.

Music Appreciation (New Class!)

Campers will learn how to read music and other musical concepts in a fun, interactive environment. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn more about musical history and famous composers and musicians. (This class is structured for camper's with no or limited musical knowledge). Available for Voyagers, Trailblazer and Pathfinders. This class is only available during Session B.

Sports

Physical Fitness

This class will teach campers healthy habits in an active, fun environment. Campers will learn how exercise and healthy lifestyle can impact their overall health. Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers and Pathfinders.

Sailing & Canoeing*

Campers will gain understanding of the fundamentals of sailing. Instruction will take place on beautiful Lake Virginia. Water safety is emphasized; life jackets are worn at all times while on the lake. Basic swimming skills required. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required. Available for Trailblazers and Pathfinders.
*Campers must be at least 8 years old to participate.

Advanced Sailing & Canoeing*

This program is designed for the advanced boater. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required. Available for Trailblazers and Pathfinders.
*Campers must have previously taken a Rollins Sailing & Canoeing course.

Swimming

This multi-level course will introduce beginners to the basics, as well as challenge the advanced swimmer. Certified lifeguards and instructors will be present at all sessions. Swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen required. Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers and Pathfinders.

Team Sports

Come out and play! A variety of games, such as co-ed flag football, kickball, and other similar games will be played. Campers will build skills such as eye-hand/eye-foot coordination, balance, and agility. Special emphasis will be placed on teamwork, group strategy, cooperation,
sportsmanship, self-esteem, and fun! Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers and Pathfinders.

Tennis

Classes are structured for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Young athletes will learn the rules of the game, including court etiquette. This course will include instruction in forehand and backhand strokes, serves, volley, overhead smash, and footwork. Tennis racket
required. Available for Voyagers, Trailblazers and Pathfinders.
