Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business Receives Extension of Prestigious AACSB Accreditation

WINTER PARK, FL (April 21, 2017) – The Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business announced that their accreditation in business degree programs has been extended by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. Reviewed in rigorous detail for renewal every five years, AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, earned by less than five percent of the world's business schools.

"Crummer’s AACSB accreditation is a testament to the excellence that we strive for and the appreciation we have for our faculty, alumni, students, staff and business partners around the globe,” said Dr. Deborah Crown, Dean of Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business. “We will continue to exemplify the high standards put forth by AACSB and exceed the expectations for what an MBA and EDBA program can and should be by developing highly successful global business leaders that impact their organizations and communities”

In support of the Crummer School’s mission, they offer degree programs to fit any executive, such as the Executive Doctorate in Business Administration (EDBA), the Executive MBA and the Professional MBA for emerging executive leaders, as well as custom programming through the Center for Executive Education.

“It gives me immense pride to see Crummer’s continued recognition at the highest level for business education, not only as the Chairman, but as an alumnus of Rollins and Crummer,” said John Race, Chair of the Board of Overseers of Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business. “I’m even more excited for the school’s future. Under the leadership of Dean Crown and her faculty and staff, Crummer stays on the cutting-edge of the most in-demand fields, helping tomorrow’s business leaders shape their industries and positively influence the societies that we live in.”

Crummer stands out as a one-of-a-kind business school because of its small class size, personalized attention from distinguished faculty and team-based real world learning experiences. Students engage with the school’s Centers of Excellence, which provide innovative development and support resources such as coaching, mentorship, domestic and global case competitions, and continuing education. Two of the school’s Centers were specifically highlighted throughout the renewal process: The Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship and The Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership which strengthens nonprofit and philanthropic organizations through education and leadership assistance.

“The Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship exists for the benefit of the students,” noted John Riley, Chairman of the Entrepreneurship Center Board. “It is our goal to connect and expose them to the brightest entrepreneurial minds in Central Florida; ‘advanced’ entrepreneurs who have successfully exited ventures of their own and are passionate about nurturing the next generation of innovators.”

Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor, and peer review. During this multi-year review process, schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.

“AACSB commends Crummer for their exemplary work in holding the highest honor in business school accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “During this peer-review process schools must demonstrate alignment with AACSB’s global accreditation standards, as well as how they encourage engagement, innovation, and impact across the communities they serve.”
