Rollins Awards Scholarship to CEO of REBUILD Globally

2012 B.I.G. Award winner receives scholarship for Rollins Business Accelerator program.

Recognizing the business innovation and successful growth of REBUILD Globally—an organization created in response to the devastating earthquake of January 12, 2010, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti—the Rollins College Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship has awarded REBUILD’s company founder, Julie Colombino, a full scholarship for the Rollins Business Accelerator program. The scholarship is part of the $50,500 prize package awarded to REBUILD Globally for winning the 2012 Business Innovations and Growth (B.I.G.) Award at Central Florida’s premier event for entrepreneurs and business leaders.

“Our program is unique in that it brings together developing entrepreneurs—who have already built successful businesses—into one program where they can learn from each other’s experiences while gaining valuable knowledge from Rollins MBA’s world-class faculty and successful business leaders,” said Cari Coats, Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship.“We believe that Julie Colombino’s work with REBUILD Globally makes her an excellent addition to our program where she will gain the tools she needs to make her company stronger and more competitive.”

The Rollins Business Accelerator is a graduate certificate program that provides selected second stage entrepreneurs the opportunity to unleash the growth potential of their business. The program focuses on evaluating strategy and developing a plan for growth while maximizing cash flow for future profitability. Over the course of the program, entrepreneurs work on their business and gain a development and planning process they can use as a tool for ongoing growth.

"We are honored and humbled by the opportunities presented to us through the B.I.G. Summit and the Rollins Business Accelerator Program,” said Julie Colombino, CEO and founder of REBUILD Globally. “REBUILD globally is an entrepreneurial model that is focused on the well-being of vulnerable populations, the planet as well as successful business practices, and I am confident that the certificate offered by Rollins will give me the opportunity to learn the skills I need to grow our model and increase our vision to support dignified employment on a global scale.  We are sincerely grateful for these gifts."
