Rollins MBA Professor Henrique Correa Receives Bornstein Award for Faculty Scholarship

May 5, 2011 - Rollins MBA professor Henrique Correa, Ph.D., has been awarded the Bornstein Award for Faculty Scholarship. Established by the Board of Trustees of Rollins College in 2003, the Bornstein Award recognizes Dr. Correa for outstanding scholarly achievements and accomplishments that have helped bring national prominence to the college.

“Dr. Correa’s contributions to academia as well as industry are truly remarkable,” said Rollins MBA Dean Craig McAllaster. “He is an exceptional professor who gives our MBA students the real-world perspective on operations management issues that they need to excel in their careers.”

Dr. Correa is Professor of Operations Management at Rollins College, where his research focuses on global supply-chain management, flexible operations and operations strategy. Dr. Correa was selected for the award among faculty at Rollins College in recognition of his exceptional contributions to Rollins College over the past academic year.

He is active in international and U.S.-based organizations and lectures in the United States and around the world, presently teaching at IE Business School in Madrid, Spain; University of Porto Business School in Porto, Portugal; and FIA – University of São Paulo Business School in Brazil; in addition to Rollins. He is the editorial advisor for Editora Atlas S.A, the largest publishing company for academic texts in management in Brazil; a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Emerald, United Kingdom; and is Associate Editor of RAE – Revista de Administração de Empresas da Fundação Getulio Vargas (“Journal of Business Management of Fundação Getulio Vargas”). He has been published in numerous journals, including the International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management, Internataional Journal of Operations and Production Management, Journal of Operations and Supply Chain Management, Latin America Business Review, and Integrated Manufacturing Systems. Dr. Correa has also consulted with established companies such as Unilever, General Motors, Pepsico, Natura, Hewlett-Packard, Embraer, 3M, Brazil Foods, Whirlpool, Monsanto and Inter-Bev.

Named in for Rollins' 13th president, the award honors Rita Bornstein's leadership and contribution to the academic vitality of the college.
