May 29, 2010—The Rollins MBA announces that Jule Gassenheimer has been awarded the Academy of Marketing Science 2010 Outstanding Marketing Teacher Award. The announcement was made during an award’s luncheon at the 2010 AMS Annual Conference, which took place from May 26-29, 2010.

Dr. Gassenheimer is professor of marketing at the Rollins MBA. She joined the school in 2004 and teaches marketing research, marketing management and sales management. The AMS Outstanding Marketing Teacher program was initiated in 1999 to recognize and reward excellence in teaching, and to provide a forum for outstanding teachers to share their classroom success with colleagues. The award program is sponsored by South-Western Publishing/Lamb-Hair-McDaniel.

“The award is validation of the excellence and dedication that Jule Gassenheimer brings to the Rollins MBA,” said Craig McAllaster, dean, the Rollins MBA. “A cornerstone to our success is our commitment to providing students with the highest quality of education, and Jule regularly demonstrates this in her interaction with students and peers.”

Dr. Gassenheimer’s teaching philosophy stresses several essential core beliefs such as fostering mutual respect between instructor and student; demonstrating a passion for teaching; establishing clear goals, preparation and follow-up; and understanding that there is always room for improvement.

Dr. Gassenheimer is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. She received her BSBA from the University of Denver in Hotel-Restaurant Management, her M.A. in Marketing from the University of Alabama and her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Alabama.
