Professional Interests and Duties:
Currently, I am pursuing a PMBA, Professional Masters in Business Administration degree from the Crummer Graduate School of Business (http://www.rollins.edu/crummer) at Rollins College, with a Leadership Track and an intended Management concentration. It is my goal to apply a variety of business models to the management of departmental stockrooms and laboratories in order to increase productivity, efficiency, quality and organization, while at the same time decreasing cost, duplication, and errors. I would like to achieve this while maintaining a safe, pleasant and welcoming environment in our laboratories.
I am an active member of the National Association of Scientific Materials Managers (www.naosmm.org). After fulfilling all their requirements, in July 2010, I was certified as a Scientifics Materials Manager (CSMM). An excerpt of my paper has been published in the Newsline Magazine, Winter 2011, Volume 43, Number 4, pages 3-6.
Managing an academic scientific stockroom is a very rewarding job, as it allows me to be part of the student’s education by providing the resources they need to get the hands-on experience, which is critical for their learning. The opportunities for development in the scientific, managerial, and safety fields, allow me to provide a scientific environment that is professional and safe.
Family is my top priority; and I love spending time with them. My favorite pastime is beading and jewelry making; I also enjoy reading, gardening, and the outdoors.
