Courses
Taught: My Ph.D. is in the areas of molecular and developmental biology and my research involved the isolation and characterization of muscle protein genes and their transcripts. Since then I have worked, mainly part-time, as an adjunct professor here at Rollins. Because of the broad biology background I attained as a undergraduate student here at Rollins and because of the diversity of courses that I have taught, I have evolved into a "General Biologist". I enjoy teaching biology courses with a broad scope, such as General Biology and Biosphere and those with a health related component such as Human Anatomy and Nutrition. I particularly enjoy the challenge of trying to communicate an understanding and appreciation of science to non-science majors. Personal Interests: I spend the majority of my time with my family, mostly chauffeuring my children to and from school and activities. A few of the things I enjoy doing when I get a few spare minutes are music, gardening, hiking, bird watching and reading/learning about the adventures and discoveries of the early American explorers.
