The rowing tradition began at Rollins in 1903 and was elevated to a varsity sport in 1931. In the years since, we have developed one of the finest rowing programs in the country, competing at both the national and international level. Rowing develops discipline, teamwork, and leadership—skills that will bolster your academic success, personal growth, and professional journey both at Rollins and beyond.

    Rowing Year-Round

Thanks to our nearly perpetual sunny weather, an average annual temperature of 70 degrees, and prime location on the Winter Park Chain of Lakes, our men’s and women’s crew teams are able to row on the water year-round.

    Competitive Cachet

Our teams have successfully competed at various regattas all over the world, including the Dad Vail Championships, Southern Intercollegiate Championships, Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) competitions, and the prestigious Royal Henley Regatta. Some of our student-athletes have even gone on to earn spots on the United States National Team.

Open to Everyone

The rowing team is looking for rowers and non-rowers to continue the Rollins crew tradition. Rowing is the only varsity team on campus open to students with no previous experience. So whether you’re a seasoned rower looking to improve your skills or are new to the sport and interested in competing, we have a spot for you. The team will help you grow both as a person and an athlete as well as build lasting friendships.

Crew Scholarships Available

More than 90 percent of Rollins students receive financial aid, and each year students tap into $100 million in support. Rowing scholarships are also available for student-athletes interested in becoming part of the men’s or women’s rowing teams.
