George D. and Harriet W. Cornell Professor of Religious Studies Yudit Kornberg Greenberg recently received a Fulbright Scholar Award to teach at the University of Bucharest
during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year. Greenberg is
one of approximately 1,100 U.S. faculty and professionals who will
travel abroad through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program in 2011-12.
She is also the third Rollins faculty to receive a Fulbright award in
the past 12 months.
In July 2010, Ronald G. and N. Jayne Gelbman Professor of International Business and Professor of Political Science Thomas D. Lairson was selected to receive a Fulbright Scholar award for teaching and research in Singapore. In April 2010, Rachel Newcomb,
assistant professor of anthropology, received a Fulbright Scholar grant
to study women's reproductive practices in Morocco during the 2010-11
academic year.
This September, Greenberg will travel to Romania to teach courses in
Jewish studies, religious studies, and gender studies. As an expert in
these disciplines, she will have the opportunity to share the knowledge
and passion she has amassed in her accomplished teaching career. “My
scholarship and teaching, my role as the director of the Jewish studies program at Rollins College, my leadership roles at the American Academy of Religion, and my international teaching and lecturing have well prepared me for this undertaking,” shared Greenberg.
