Professor Ilan Alon and Assistant Professor Marc Fetscherin, in collaboration with Harvard University, The Georgia Institute of Technology and Jacobs University, organized the 4th China Goes Global Conference (a 3-day international conference) held October 6 - 8 at Harvard University.
Over 100 participants from 20 countries attended, including 12 faculty and two MBA students from Rollins. During the conference, several papers were presented by Rollins faculty as well as a student with original research on the political, economic, cultural and social dimensions of the Chinese Government's "go global" policy.
“Eve Misati and I presented a paper entitled ‘Comparing Domestic & Returnee Female Entrepreneurs in China: Is There an Internationalization Effect?’ that was also co-authored by Ilan Alon and Wenxian Zhang,” said Assistant Professor of Economics Tonia Warnecke. “This paper was particularly exciting to write and present because it represents an interdisciplinary project.”
In addition to collaborating with international business and the Olin Library, Warnecke worked with Eve Misati, a student in Rollins’ Crummer Graduate School of Business. “The research project also represents student-faculty collaboration as well as collaboration across faculty rank.” The paper will be published in the peer-reviewed journal, International Journal of Business and Globalisation.
